With respect and humility, Wellness Through Connection (WTC) acknowledges that we live and work on the ancestral lands of the Anishinabewaki, Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, and Michif Piyii (Métis) peoples, and that this place is also the traditional territory of the Cree, Anishininiimowin (Oji-Cree), Dakota, and Dene peoples. We are grateful to the Treaty Territories who provide us with electricity and with our water, which is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation. As part of our commitment to reconciliation, we strive to continually learn and unlearn through truth-telling, truth-receiving, and remaining in open dialogue, acknowledging the ongoing impacts of colonialism on Indigenous communities. WTC is committed to building strong and healthy communities through relational work that is action-oriented and decolonial in nature. We aim to enact stewardship through daily actions that respect the land and water, and by advocating within our community to support the vital leadership and stewardship of Indigenous peoples, which is essential for the future of this planet.
